Are you ready to plan your Conference? You can already see what sessions will be offered and make plans early!
Go to Choose Find Events from the choices at the top. Search for TASL and choose TASL Conference 2016. In the upper right-hand corner, choose to SIGN UP (or LOG IN if you already have an account); this is free to do.

Conference Registration

Raise your library program to new levels of excellence with the terrific ideas you will find at
TASL Conference 2016.

Thursday -- Conference events kick off with several pre-conferences. The first is a workshop on ESSA, followed by a pre-conference with Mr. Schu, then The Novel Conversation and finally the opening of the Exhibits Hall and reception.
Friday --  There is a full day of programming on Friday with the VSBA Awards Banquet in the evening.  Ruta Sepetys and Aaron Reynolds will be the speakers at the banquet; Ruta Sepetys will not be presenting at any other time during the Conference.
Saturday -- The conference will wrap up on Saturday with more outstanding sessions.
Good news! This year registration includes wifi for all attendees.

AASL presents ESSA

This AASL workshop will present the most up-to-date information on the Every Student Succeeds Act and then guide you in  creating a plan to make the most of this important legislation at the school level.  AASL is sponsoring this event. There is no charge. Be sure to take advantage of this opportunity to learn from national leaders.

Cool, Loud and Everywhere: Being a Reading Leader

 Library Journal named John Schumacher (a.k.a. Mr. Schu) “The Xtreme Librarian” for the extreme and widely successful and effectives tactics he uses to make the school library the heart of the school. John will share his experiences in being a champion of independent reading, a connector of the school family, and an advocate for all students.  Thursday 12:30 - 3:30. (There is an additional charge of $25 for this event.)

The Novel Conversation

This social event pairs the authors and illustrators of The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) for a conversation and insights into the new books that our students will love. Refreshments will be served. Thursday 4:00 - 5:30. (There is an additional charge of $25 for this event.)

Conference and VSBA Banquet: This year's conference will feature Wi-fi; part of the cost is reflected in a slight price increase and the other part is covered in a generous donation from Davidson Titles
