About Us

TASL is a completely volunteer-run organization whose membership consists of primarily certified school librarians.  The purpose of this organization shall be to encourage the professional growth and development of Tennessee school library media specialists; to promote cooperation among library media specialists, school administrators, classroom teachers and other persons interested in school library media programs; and to strengthen school library media service in Tennessee.  If you are interested in assuming a more active role in TASL, please click on the "Volunteer with TASL" button in our Quick Links menu to the right.

TASL works to build an informed and literate society through connecting and equipping school library leaders to innovate and advocate for all learners.

The mission of the American Association of School Librarians is to advocate excellence, facilitate change, and develop leaders in the school library field.  New Learning for Life lesson plan database.

 


Promote the establishment, maintenance, and support of adequate library services for all people of the state; Cooperate with public and private agencies with related interests; Support and further professional interests of the membership of the Association.

 

Tenn-Share believes that all residents of the state of Tennessee should have access to quality information through adequate resources from their libraries. Tenn-Share seeks to make available to all libraries in the state the resources necessary to meet the information needs of their patrons.
